IMARIS 軟體及其模組是一套分析生物細胞、器官、組織的顯微影像分析軟體,處理和分析光學顯微鏡所得到的顯微影像,例如可以分析神經細胞成長、神經系統連結的情形,進行神經發生學的研究。腦神經發展的研究,將有助於我們瞭解學習、記憶等重要的腦部弁遄C也可以進行胞器的重組,建構三度空間的立體結構,大範圍的影像建立,甚至可能建立大腦的結構─虛擬大腦 (virtual brain),在裡面進行虛擬航行 (navigation)。應用在病理組織切片上,可以判斷腫瘤的大小及形態,進行醫療診斷。在學術界適用於神經生物學、細胞生物學、發生學、分子生物技術、醫學影像、生理學各學門,配合虛擬實境 (Virtual Reality) 進行解剖學教學等需求。在醫學應用上,可以幫助臨床醫學診斷,分析腫瘤的形態及大小。生物技術產業上,可以進行生物晶片結果分析,例如 DNA 晶片結果的螢光樣式 (pattern) 辨認,可以做為刑事或血緣 DNA 的判定、個人的識別、新藥的開發、感染性疾病的診斷等用途。(摘自於IMARIS-細胞結構生物顯微影像分析軟體 )
